Waiting at the signal
I am sitting on my bike waiting at the signal. Its Holi today and I am going to my friends house. While waiting for the signal to turn green, I am thinking about what are my core values. Yesterday I had spent some time reading on this topic. What I realise is that there are so many values or ideals that can define people. It can be justice, compassion, humour, empathy, honesty, integrity and a lot more. But what I feel is that these seem to be abstract concepts. There needs to be a common link that binds all of these together. To go with my philosophy, I follow The Beatles. ‘All you need is love’ is what they propose. All of the values can be derived from love. The concept can be extended to humanity at large. While I am pondering over this, a car continues to honk from behind. The signal is still red and I turn back and shout at the top of my voice “Cant you see the signal is still red?” . All the idealism vanishes in thin air and all I can do is smile at the fickleness of the mind.
Haha, On point my friend! Very well portrayed.
